Today in show prep:
6 days til the Darkside Market at The Broken Goblet! Had ordered business cards before the idiotic Meta announcement, so I got QR code stickers to put over my instagram QR code. Now it takes folks to my LinkSta.cc instead!

Get going! International Trombone Week is around the corner. Mark the occasion during the "official" week (April 6-13, 2025)or any day in Aprilor any other day really. Art is everything. Express yourself. Lift others up. You can do this.

This picture says it all! Practice is isnt even hard when you think of it as expression. And the opposite of depression isnt happiness, its expression.
So, keep going, dont stop! Make art!

Im exhausted, but I will never stop being angry.

Completed the next stages on creating an art project for my office. I finished painting the frame, added a hanging cable, and put fabric over the cork.

The fabric was hand stapled in place using pliers, a deburrer for my 3D printer, and an old PCB. Took 2 hours to do the stapling.

It takes courage to say no.

Still working. In progress. Inks, watercolor on Yupo synthetic paper. I love this paper. It feels so good to spray water, drip paint, watch it all run together. It's so soothing.

Working... In progress

Picked these up recently as part of a drive to do more offline analogue art such as zines.

Today is a day to make something.

Watercolor I recently completed inspired by a FB photograph. Unfortunately I dont know who the photographer was. Beautiful sunset over the Dakota mill in Mankato, MN

I don't know what to do except make art and be with people i love. Anything else feels like it will just bring out the hatred and anger i feel towards the US situation at the moment. I refuse to let hatred win, so art it is. Here's a (mostly) sketch of this beautiful day in Nice, France last fall. Done in Autodesk sketchbook with felt tip pen and watercolour brush.

Im making this paper heart. Writing what I love and what had broken my heart on paper that I then twist together to make cordage and then weave into a 3D anatomical heart.

Laying out my 3D glass labyrinth. It's kind of like a game of how steady can I keep my hands so the pieces don't tumble like dominoes.

You have permission to use those supplies you bought but still haven't opened up because you're afraid your art won't be good enough. You are worthy of the joy the creative process brings.

Every needs a cat. When Xmas walks across the piano, she makes up new chord combinations.

Took some time to play. I started by tracing my Star Eater design into paper, then immediately ruining it by throwing inks all over it. It makes for a different creative space, one where youre no longer afraid to ruin a good drawing with experimentation. Which made this way more fun.
Only problem was I had such a trouble getting the silver leaf to stick! Please send advice.

I adore the gaggles of ghosts we made the last few weeks at the studio! Theyre so wonderful.

Two of these were private paint parties. Thats right, you can book your choice of painting for your company party or just fun time with friends.

Hey! I'm Onyx, nice to meet you

I'm just a lil guy trying to live from my passion and who LOVES axolotl (that's probably why you will see them everywhere).

I make a lot of traditional art with Chinese ink, and some digital things with colors, sometimes.

Artist, writer, creative - your value as an artist comes from one simple truth: you are human, and humans make art.

What do you do on a day when you're 86 kinds of tired

Just a little.

A little bit counts.

The only way out is through. That includes your art.

You CANNOT fail at art. Here's why.

Impulsively made a new design to try with my glow-in-the-dark holofoil, (and maybe metallics, too), for tote bags and maybe t shirts. Might make some small edits of line width and such, depending how cutting goes.
But what do you think Wanna see this happen
Let me know if I should hustle to get these made for conventions this month and next!
